Desireé Pearson doesn't work in one medium. She works in whatever the moment calls for. Canvas, wood, glass storefronts, sneakers, clothing, cars. If it can hold color, it's fair game. Self-taught and Birmingham-raised, she's spent her career refusing to pick a lane, because the range is the point.

What she makes. Murals that turn blank walls into landscapes a whole neighborhood recognizes as theirs. Hand-painted sneakers and custom garments. Commissioned portraits. Vehicle art that turns a delivery truck into a moving gallery. Accent walls, storefront glass, and wood builds, worked in saturated color and abstract figure, in both latex and acrylic, across nearly any surface that will hold paint.

How she works. She started young, self-taught, and never stopped adding tools to the kit. Sneaker art and pop-up clothing drops led to commissioned portraits, which led to murals, which led to a client list spanning Birmingham and beyond, including a standing body of work at The Summit. Somewhere along the way, trying something new and getting it right on the first attempt became less of a fluke and more of a habit. That restlessness, the pull toward a hobby she hasn't mastered yet, is baked into how she works today.

Why it matters . Left to her own devices, she creates alone. But the work she's proudest of happens in collaboration: taking someone else's half-formed idea and giving it a wall, a jacket, or a car door to live on. That's the premise behind Art by Dezire: bringing other people's vision and desire into something real, in whatever material gets it there.
